Foster Dairy
The dairy farm has been a part of the family’s history since the late 1940s and has been continuously milking cows since January 1978. William Edward and Florence Davis moved from Hutchinson, Kansas, to southeast Kansas near Hiattville with their six children to start a new life in the country. The adjustment from town life to farming was difficult, but the family worked hard to establish themselves. The farm’s first dairy herd belonged to their daughter, Lola Mae, who married a man from the Kingman area. Together, they began milking a registered Ayrshire herd, creating the foundation for the family’s long-standing dairy farming tradition.
