Do you ever miss the smell of books? Hedgehog Books features gently used books and SO much more! It’s a community of books for the community! Additional local products Hedgehog Books carries include Lavender Patch Farm products, Locust Hill Farm goat milk products, Greeting cards by Jean Solomon and Sweet Granda chocolates from Emporia, KS. We accept – paperbacks and hardback books in fiction and non-fiction for all age levels. Rare or collectible books will be considered individually. Most paperbacks and hardbacks traded for store credit will receive up to 20% of the price we charge for books. Book pricing depends on book quality, age, demand, current stock and condition. Trade credit can be redeemed at the rate of ½ credit and ½ cash for books only. Example: If you buy a $4 book you can apply $2 of your credit and you will pay the remaining $2 in cash. We will special order new or used books for you.

Sunshine Boutique has held its doors open in downtown Fort Scott, Kansas for over 30 years. Georgia Brown and her husband Donnie Brown opened Sunshine in 1987. During that time, Donnie and Georgia raised three beautiful children,  and now have several grand children including great grandchildren. Over the past few years Georgia and her granddaughter Kinede Houdashelt, her assistant, began brainstorming. The ladies knew they wanted new improvements for the boutique.  In 2017, Georgia and Donnie took granddaughters Kinede and Tuker Ross to the World Market in Dallas, Texas to find all new inventory. At the same time, the store took on new renovations. We is excited to be up and running again with new things arriving daily! Sunshine offers the best gifts and personal items. From make up bags, to candles, to home decor, you guess it, we have it! Our boutique also offers bridal registry, tuxedo rentals, and fine coffee and tea as well. Sunshine is a faith based business and has been in the historical downtown Fort Scott, Kansas area for over 30 years.

Fort Scott Farmers’ Market is a farmer driven and managed market. The farmers work hard to produce the very finest produce available. They also provide a great venue for community organizations to promote their mission and raise funds. Our producers are focused on fresh locally produced farm products. Farm fresh produce, meats, baked goods, homemade crafts, and more. Under the Gathering Square Pavilion on Skubitz Plaza, at 111 N. National Ave. The Fort Scott Farmers Market takes place each Saturday, 8 AM-12 noon and each Tuesday, 4-6 PM during season (April through October).
